Last September saw the CAA launch its new online ATOL renewal portal having piloted it since March 2018.

Teething problems were widely reported in the industry and discussed at our own October Travel Directors’ Summit

So how has the CAA’s new system performed in relation to March renewals for you?

From our perspective, it appears that ‘simple’ renewals are being turned around quickly allowing the CAA to focus more on ‘complex’ ones. However, there remains some inconsistency which makes it difficult to always predict how your business will be viewed.

In relation to September 2019 renewals, our advice is, therefore, to submit your application as soon as is practically possible.
