Give Them a Break – Let’s All Help Make a Difference
Elman Wall and Summit Advisory have always been supportive of charitable causes, especially when they are directly related to the Travel Industry. We have, for many years, supported and endorsed the FHA and this time, we are delighted to get behind another wonderful initiative. Give Them A Break is a new, not-for-profit campaign set up by a small group of volunteers to unite the travel industry and the public to give something back to key workers across the UK to thank them for their efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Week after week the great British public have shown their appreciation of NHS frontline staff and key workers. Now’s the time to do something practical.
GTAB works with the Family Holiday Association, the charity that gives families a break, to raise funds to provide holidays and days out to low income key workers.
The Give Them A Break campaign has two elements:
The Give Them A Break Directory – www.givethemabreak.org – A range of deals and discounted offers from a selection of travel brands which specialise in UK and overseas holidays and experiences, specifically for UK key workers.
The Give Them A Break Fund www.justgiving/campaigns/givethemabreak – A public facing fund, managed by charity partner, the Family Holiday Association, to provide holidays and experiences for low income key workers and their families when travel restrictions ease.
The Travel Industry has a valuable role to play in helping the country recover from the Coronavirus pandemic. Give Them A Break is a wonderful opportunity to highlight how the industry gives back. The response from the travel and tourism industry so far has been great, but the more holidays, domestic tourist attraction operators and UK experiences we can offer, the better.
Brands that have already signed up to take part include:
Abercrombie & Kent, Alpharooms, Dragoman, Elegant Holidays, Elite Island Resorts, Hyatt, Intrepid Travel, Millennium & Copthorne Hotels, Rhino car rental, Sanctuary Retreats, Britain Unites (the visitor attractions scheme for NHS workers), Teletext Holidays, TravelLocal, Transindus, Travelbag, Travel Department, Travel Republic, TUI and USAirtours, with further names being added daily.
To raise awareness along with other campaign activities and build momentum, the #givethemabreak hashtag will be used across all key social channels. Give Them A Break can be found on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter.
