The rules for Making Tax Digital (MTD) for VAT will come into force on 1 April 2019. Essentially, MTD means that from 1 April 2019, if you fall within the regulations, your VAT returns will need to be filed “digitally” – i.e. there needs to be a digital trail from source data to return submission.
